Accessibility & WCAG Conformance

The contrast checker implements the WCAG 2.1 relative-luminance and contrast-ratio math, but a passing ratio is only one of many accessibility requirements. Real conformance depends on context, actual rendering, semantics, keyboard operation, and testing with assistive technology. Do not treat a pass in this tool as certification that a page or product is accessible or WCAG-conformant. Confirm with dedicated accessibility-testing tools and, for anything consequential, a qualified accessibility professional.
